Nicosia/Lefkosa
Head for Nicosia and the Ledra crossing point in the Green Line that, since the 1974 war, marks the UN patrolled no man's land between the Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots in Europe's last divided capital. Look out for the bullet pocked Ledra Palace as you go through no man's land. But if bullet holes aren't your thing, stay on the Turkish side of the line and enjoy the sensationally surreal Nicosia mosque, actually a gothic cathedral, which the Ottomans attached a minaret to, when they took the city in 1570.

Girne (Kyrenia) Harbour
NOTE: The currency in Northern Cyprus is the Turkish Lira which generally means that all locally produced goods and products are reasonably cheap to purchase. All of the businesses will take Sterling at a reasonable exchange rate so there is plenty of opportunity should you forget to bring Lira with you. Cash points are readily available and Kyrenia has a plentiful supply of banks and money exchange facilities.
There are numerous local bars and restaurants within a short drive from the villa offering a variety of local and international cuisine:

The Templar Castles of Kantara, Buffavento & St Hilarion are all within easy reach, as is the stunning Bellapais Monastery. The Karpas peninsula, otherwise known as the 'Pan handle' is an unspoilt, area steeped in Cyprus history, a 2+ hour drive away. Famagusta is a 1 hour drive, famed for its walled city, pale sandy beaches, medieval ruins and archaeology, and the abandoned Varosha beach-side community.
